- Oldham County for the majority of it’s life has been a “dry” county. This was until at 2005 when it was voted to become a “moist” county. For those of you not familiar with this terminology. In Kentucky we still have many counties that ban the sale alcohol, making them a “dry” county. Those with a “moist” status allow restaurants that make at least 70% of their sales from food, and are able to seat at least 100 patrons, to also serve alcohol.
- Oldham County is the wealthiest county in the state of Kentucky with a median household income of over $70,000. This might have something to do with the fact that Oldham County holds the second largest amount of college educated individuals in the state. Pretty impressive!
